Lunch Productivity
Today was a good day of teaching, everything went as expected. Unfortunately today's weekly lunch meeting also went as expected, drawn out and pointless. It started with Ms. White complaining about discipline and a student who is in in-school suspension. Her rant lasted at least ten minutes and wasn't relevant to the other teachers in any way. After that the meeting got what can only be described as "productiver." I tried to put my input in, however, none of them actually listened to what I was saying. Instead they jumped at the chance to lecture me on how to be a better teacher while I sat there hoping the room would catch on fire. The bad news is the room didn't catch on fire, and I had to hear them go on and on. The good news is when I told them they missed my point completely, I got to see the dumb looks on their faces. I couldn't help but peer over at Coach Mustard's notes; he is actually taking notes of how pointless this meetings is. Can I get a copy of that?

Credit Card Fraud for Dummies
It's Monday and I'm back in the office. It's my conference period, but there are some students from Ms. White's class in my room working on a project. Now I don't care that they're talking about videos games and XBOX, but I couldn't help overhear a child announce that he was charging Microsoft points on his parent's credit card without them knowing. I think I was most upset at the fact that the kid was so stupid to announce it for me to hear. I immediately snapped at him, asking him how many Microsoft points it would take for him to pull his head out... I didn't finish this thought out loud, but he got the idea. Anyways I made it clear that he should respect his parents, and now I guess I gotta tell his parents that their dumb kid isn't just a dumb kid, but a lousy criminal too.

Block Party of a Time
Today was the First ever Block Party for the Homecoming game. I wasn't anything special; I would describe it as "Super Reccess," but it was sure better than teaching. All I had to do was stand around and make sure nobody gets murdered, piece of cake. I was talking with Ms. Taco and Ms. Tan as they traded stories of their crazy weekends in New Orleans. Could this be happening? Two people older than me, teachers at that, having crazier nights than me. Have I gone soft or has my opinion of a good time matured? This weekend's intinerary does include a gentleman's drink and some cigars of the Cuban persuasion, and I can't complain about that. I'll let the teachers have their fun, and I'll have mine.

Parent Conference Day
today is Parent Conference day. this means the kids stay at home, andthe parents come to meet with their child's first period teacher. Of course if you're an awesome teacher like myself, you don't have a first period, so you spend the day sitting around, drinking coffee, and hanging out. I couldn't help but notice how much I was enjoying not having to teach today. I should probably feel guilty; I mean, as a teacher, I feel I should want to teach. But no; not me.

Working for the Weekend
Just a cliche of a day as I go through Friday waiting for the weekend. After work I went with Rob Edwards to meet some teachers for a drink... which turned into more.

Intervention
Not much to say about today, just a routine day of teaching, except for one very notable event. I got pulled into Ms. Scarlet's, our counselor's, office to talk about Ms. Peacock. Turns out there's going to be an intervetion regarding Ms. Peacock, and Ms. Scarlet is gathering everyone's thoughts. I couldn't believe it. With this group I always expected to be the subject of an intervention, but not the other way around. It is comforting to know everyone thinks Ms. Peacock is as crazy as I do. Why is she still working here again?

Student of the Week
I'm getting to work at my usual time (about 5-7 minutes late), when Coach Blonde notices Ms. Latifa's flat tire, and asks if I'll tell Ms. Latifa the bad news. Ms. Latifa, who coincidentally sounds just like Queen Latifa, is our vice principal, and this is a great time for me to suck up. Long story short I offer up my air compressor and look like a hero. Today is also the day I find out how my evauluation went. All good;everything is exceeding or proficient. It's definitely a good evaluation, but I just know my observation could have went better. It makes me wonder how much better I could have scored.
Today's the day for our weekly lunch meeting; the only time the 8th grade teachers can meet with me. It lasts from 1:00-1:30. Today I looked at my watch; I didn't get to say anything until 1:27, what a waste. Just another oppurtunity for our team lead, Ms. Peacock, to ramble on and waste everyone's time. Meetings like these don't get anythign accomplished but chose some dumb student of the week. Then i have to think of something nice to write on the card they get for the kid. It's the worst. Writing sappy inspirational stuff on a card is just that... sappy. Today I drew a smiley face and wrote "Prindiville Approved." I could tell on the look on Ms. Peacock's face that she wasn't pleased. Screw her; if she's not pleased, then I might have finally wrote something good on one of these cards.

My Day Behind
Just started keeping record of my thoughts and I'm already behind. it's actually Wednesday, and I'm trying to recall Tuesday's happening. Luckily Tuesday was when I got observed for PDAS (Proffesional Development... something something), and I won't forget that too easily. All things considered my observation went well. The only thing is I knew I could have done better. As i said before, it's actually Wednesday right now, so I know how my observation went, but you'll have to wait till then to find out.
The other memorable thing that happened today was Ms. Brown stopped by to thank me for working the Halloween dance this past Friday. Truth is I tried so hard to weasel out of that duty. Now I got her thanking me for working half the dance, not knowing I left to go drinking the second half. Well Ms. Brown, you are very welcome.

Green Tree Frog ~
Short Post!!!
Well it had bee raining a few days ago ~ I was using the computer when suddenly I hear croaking ~
I'm like....."Great....the frogs got into the water pipe again ~" ~ Since we live on rain water....having a frog in there blocks some water getting into the water tank ~
So I went and got the ladder and told mum to turn on the hose.....and fired water down the pipe ~ The little fella got ended up at the other side....using all four legs to hold on....no wanting to come out ~
So I decided to grab him myself and take a few photos before letting him go :P ~
So here they are ~
He wasn't very happy ~ Just kept croaking demanding me to let him go ~ Don't worry....I wasn't hurting him ~
Here's another one taken in my room.....with flash ~
Here's one taken outside before I let him go ~
Finally....a photo when I released him ~ I put him on a tree.....but he just jumped back down ~ I saw him on our gate the next day ~ Probably because our gate is the same green as him ~
Ok ~ That's all for this post ~

New 9-weeks, a New Plan
Today was the first day of the second nine-week period. so far Digital Graphics is a hit. The students get a big kick out of using Photoshop. In fact they're finally getting over putting teacher's heads on funny bodies, and actually being more creative. Web Design and Video Technology, on the other hand, have to change. Nine weeks have passed, and I am pretty sure they know next to nothing. It's frustrating, but I can't be too mad at kids not caring about electives they didn't even elect to take. Not to mention I only have two cameras for 25 Video Technology students. With that being the case, I've decided to change the Video tech. curriculum to focusmore on the study of video, as oppose to the production of it. Web Design isn't perfect either. That's why I'm requiring both these classes to keep notebooks, so students can better take notes, absorb the course material, and maybe even jot down their own thoughts and ideas. Hopefully this new strategy works, but who knows? I may be back to the drawing board in another nine weeks.
Nokia 5800 Mirror screen protector ~
Ok ~ Here's another of my reviews ~
I took off my BSE skin for my screen because it wasn't as responsive as I liked it to be ~ It is a great skin....don't get me wrong.....but I am very picky with the responsiveness of the screen.....I'd like it to respond as soon as I touch the screen ~ So I decided to take is off as it wasn't up to "my" standard ~
Mirror screen protector!!! I was given advice by jayjayne to not get mirror screen protectors as they are not user friendly....but I decided to get one anyway just because I'm curious ~
So here goes ~ Here's a photo of the mirro screen protector and an anti-glare screen protector ~ I got the anti-glare one just in case I didn't like the mirror one ~
Photos of the protector before it is applied to the phone ~ Even in its wrapping....it still gives a mirror effect ~
Here's another photo.....this is the non adhesive side ~ The side we see when the protector is applied ~ The one above was the adhesive side ~ The side that sticks to the screen ~
Here it is after it is applied ~ This is a photo of the screen on....it is actually clearer than this but this is the best I can take with my camera ~ Even though it is "visible"....there is still a shiny glare to it so it makes the screen not clear but still usable ~
Here is one with the screen off ~ Full on mirror effect ~ For ladies who like looking in the mirror ~ Here is a handy screen protector for your mobile ~ Need a mirror? Just grab your mobile phone out ~ No more carrying around heavy mirrors ~ This photo was taken with my dad's Sony Ericsson mobile phone ~
Overall....it is quite a nice screen protector ~ Also stops people around you from "spying" on what you are doing on your mobile phone ~
HOWEVER......it is a very....VERY big fingerprint magnet ~ I am crazy about keeping my screen clean.....even with a screen protector ~ When I noticed how clear my fingerprint is on this screen protector.....I nearly went crazy ~ What's more....when you wipe it....it doesn't wipe "clean" ~ There's still a smudge that remains on the protector ~
So.....I have decided to go with the anti-glare screen protector ~ Review will be coming up soon ~ If not tonight....will tomorrow ~

Best Skins Ever ~ DSI & Nokia 5800 ~
Yay ~ It arrived in the mail yesterday ~
I originally had heaps of photos to show.....however....the camera decided to format the pictures when I wanted to transfer the photos to computer ~ I had a bad night last night.....everything was failing on me ~ The mobile phone, computer failed to start up and camera failed ~ So....it really wasn't my night ~
Anyways ~ Before and after photos ~
Here is the envelope ~ Yes....they are very environmentally friendly ~ No boxes....no plastic packaging ~ Just an envelope ~ Yes.....I erased my address ~ Don't want anyone blackmailing me :P ~ The postage time wasn't too bad.....wait about 5 days and paid only US$1.50 for postage ~
Here you can clearly see the outline of the skins ~ This is the top skin and also the two skins for where the buttons are ~ Also the corner skins near the L and R button ~ The L and R buttons aren't covered ~
This is the bottom skin and side skins ~
The LCD skins ~ Must have those right :P ~
Here is the finished product (still annoyed that the photos taking during the process were formatted) ~ If you look closely, you can see the outline around the buttons ~
Here are photos with flash on to show the reflectiveness of the skin (DSI is matte material....unlike the DS....so it originally isn't glossy or shiny ~) ~ See the shine next to the camera ~
Here is a photo of the top and bottom ~ The top doesn't have a BSE skin as you really don't need to protect that area ~ The bottom one does the BSE skin ~ See the difference ~
It took me around an hour to put the full skin on my DSI ~ It should usually only take about 15 minutes but because I wanted every corner and side all positioned correctly.....it took me a bit longer ~ I was continuously peeling it off and putting it on again ~ Which really surprised me though....usually other skins if u try and peel it off and do it again.....it won't stick as well but because you are using soapy water....it doesn't matter in this case ~
Overall....I am really happy with the DSI skin ~ I had a skin on it before.....they were "claimed" to be vinyl and were pictures of cute pigs ~ I go it off eBay....they weren't cut probably and left adhesive residue on my DSI when I was peeling it off to put my BSE skin on ~ I had to wipe it over and over with a microfibre cloth to get it off ~
At US$10.99 for this skin and only US$1.50 postage ($2.50 if you order only 1 item, $1.50 if you order 2 and free if you order 3 or more), this is a great deal ~ This thing is scratch proof, yes.....I'm serious ~ I've seen YouTube videos and even tested it myself ~ Put a key, knife, scissors to it....it won't scratch....just wipe it with a cloth again and it will recover ~ The one very big reason why I got this.....the other reason is so I keep it clean as the matte material on the DSI is a dirt attractant ~
Here's a list of what you "must" need to put on the BSE skin ~
- Soapy water - possibly in a spray bottle (It is best if it is soapy, it will make things so much easier during the process and when the water has cured after a few days)
- Squeegee - if you don't have this, just use a credit card ~ I used a small keyring membership card thing ~ It was the right size ~
The whole application process is on their website and there are heaps of videos on YouTube that shows how to put them on ~

Best Skins Ever
I wil definitely be buying future skin products from them ~ When I get new stuff that is :P ~
That's my DSI BSE skin review ~ Next will be the Nokia 5800 BSE skin review ~
*Update* I lost ALL photos to my Nokia 5800 skin application ~ So I will not bother to write a seperate review for it ~
Overall, I am quite happy with the Nokia 5800 skin ~ Just the border (the part around the LCD screen) has a seperate....individual skin for it ~ It was quite hard to put that on....got quite annoyed ~
It has made the back of the phone quite nice ~ Since the back is a velvety type of feel ~ Have the skin on it reassures that this velvet feel of the cover isn't damaged easily ~ However, I think my screen has become less responsive with the thick skin ~ I also had to cut the area where my accelerometer, sensor and front camera was because my phone wouldn't let me press the on screen buttons when a call came in ~ This is due to the fact that the phone, being covered by the think skin, thinks it is still in your pocket/near face so therefore it "locks" the touchscreen ~
I think I might change back to a silicon screen protected ~ Tossing up between frosted type or mirror type ~ I have got both sitting in my drawer ~ I bought them JUST before I found out about BSE skins ~ Anyways....I have plenty of time to decide that ~

Rufus and Coco ~
I am very careful about what my pets eat ~ Especially after my first dog, Cherry, died tragically 2 years ago ~
I switched my pets to Hill's Science Diet after getting our German Shepherd, Rain ~
However, the real trouble came when our puppy, Chika, joined our family ~ She is a live....vacuum cleaner, literally ~ She picks up anything and everything she finds on the ground ~ She even goes through the cat, Fluffy's litter and eats her (excuse this) faeces ~
She was admitted into vet emergency once when she was about 4 months old ~ We noticed one night around 9pm that she was continuously vomitting ~ She was very grumpy and kept running around the place ~ We rushed her to vet emergency at Underwood ~ X-rays showed.....her stomach was packed with food and scrap ~ She stayed overnight at the vet hospital ~ 2 days in vet hospital, blood tests, xrays and treatment cost us....$750 ~
She's 11 months now and still a vaccuum cleaner ~ She had another stomach attack just 2 weeks ago but after last time's horror.....I knew how to handle the situation ~ Luckily I did a year of Vet Tech in uni, so I knew what I was doing ~ I took her off food for 2 days....let her rest and gave her water ~ I took her outside for a run and let her eat grass.....she burped and gased ~ She was fine by the next day ~ That, my friends, was the inital $750 ~
Anyway.....about 2 weeks ago ~ I found Rufus and Coco Super Skin & Coat on eBay ~ There were short dated and the person wanted to sell them and not waste them.....so I bought a box with 3 and have put them in the fridge to extend the expiry date by an extra 6 months ~ I knew about this brand before already.....I saw them in Terry White Chemist at Garden City but had my doubts and didn't end up buying any ~
After buying this.....I decided to go to Rufus and Coco's website and buy another 2 of their products ~
I must say ~ I am really impressed by the results ~ Chika has been on Super Skin and Coat for only about 5 days and we can already see an improvement in her fur ~ I only received Odour Fender and Inner Balance just yesterday....so I am still waiting to see results from those ~ However....I have my hopes up for both of those too ~
Here they are together ~ They even come with their own scoop to make measuring and feeding easier for you ~
I have 6 Super Skin and Coat right now ~ 3 are still in the mail ~ 1 Inner Balance and 2 Odour Fender....1 of which I will be picking up tomorrow after seeing an advertisement ~ The lady didn't want it because she didn't need it and was selling it for cheaper ~
Rain is a very healthy German Shepherd and so I haven't put her on these ~ Chika is taking all 3 because she really needs them the most ~ I have put Fluffy on Inner Balance just cause she is getting old and needs the supplements to keep her fit ~ Chika loves it....especially the Super Skin and Coat ~ Fluffy has been drinking more water after I added the Inner Balance to her water ~
Anyways ~ As long as they are happy and healthy ~ I'm good~ That's all for today ~

GoVia Tag ~
Weee ~ Yes....the GoVia Tag ~ Smaller, lighter....better looking :P ~ Do I sound like those advertisements you see on TV???
Anyways ~ I've had my Etoll tag for....5 years ~ It is slowly dying ~ So I decided to annoy Queensland Motorways about it ~ They sent me the new GoVia tags ~ Here it is ~
The packaging is so......fancy ~ That's no paper package....it's plastic foil ~ If it wasn't branded....I'd definitely use it again for something else ~
I like the new GoVia tag ~ It's...small & cute ~ I didn't like my Etoll tag ~ Big...fat....annoying in the car.....but it had to stay there.....or I had to STOP to pay my tolls ~ We all hate that :P ~ Well....that doesn't matter anymore....NO ONE has to stop at the tolls anymore ~ However, if you don't have a tag....you have to pay an extra 40c for the "video fee" ~
Here it is compared to it's older...bigger brother ~
Not bad.....not bad ~ I have no idea why I'm taking pride in a tag that I have to use to pay my toll....but that's how it is ~ Maybe because I take so much pride in my car....that her accessories have to be nice too ~ :P ~
Anyways ~ Now to go stick the tag in my car ~ About that....they make these silicone stickers soooo......strong ~ It took me alot of muscle.....and a knife....to take off the old one ~ Luckily....it IS silicone and didn't leave yucky marks on my glass ~ ^_^ ~

New post ~
Ok....so I didn't post like I promised I would last night ~ I got home just a bit too late ~
Was nearly clocked yesterday ~ Thank God (I mean it) that the police forgot his ticket book ~ Otherwise....I would of lost my licence by now ~ Though, it will be recorded in the system that I was speeding....so I better be careful :P ~
Anyways.....I said in yesterday's post that I'd do a review on something ~ However....I just don't know where to start ~ I will do my phone and laptop review eventually ~ However there are just too long to do right now ~ I need to head to the Gold Coast soon ~ So I don't think I will have the time ~
I will do at least 2 next weekend because I have ALOT of things coming in the mail ~ Need to clean up that desk of mine ~ It is messy....can't do reviews if my desk is in that condition ~
Anyways....getting ready to head to the Gold Coast ~ That's all for now ~
