Best Skins Ever ~ DSI & Nokia 5800 ~

Yay ~ It arrived in the mail yesterday ~

I originally had heaps of photos to show.....however....the camera decided to format the pictures when I wanted to transfer the photos to computer ~ I had a bad night last night.....everything was failing on me ~ The mobile phone, computer failed to start up and camera failed ~ So....it really wasn't my night ~

Anyways ~ Before and after photos ~

Here is the envelope ~ Yes....they are very environmentally friendly ~ No boxes....no plastic packaging ~ Just an envelope ~ Yes.....I erased my address ~ Don't want anyone blackmailing me :P ~ The postage time wasn't too bad.....wait about 5 days and paid only US$1.50 for postage ~

Here you can clearly see the outline of the skins ~ This is the top skin and also the two skins for where the buttons are ~ Also the corner skins near the L and R button ~ The L and R buttons aren't covered ~

This is the bottom skin and side skins ~

The LCD skins ~ Must have those right :P ~

Here is the finished product (still annoyed that the photos taking during the process were formatted) ~ If you look closely, you can see the outline around the buttons ~

Here are photos with flash on to show the reflectiveness of the skin (DSI is matte material....unlike the DS....so it originally isn't glossy or shiny ~) ~ See the shine next to the camera ~

Here is a photo of the top and bottom ~ The top doesn't have a BSE skin as you really don't need to protect that area ~ The bottom one does the BSE skin ~ See the difference ~

It took me around an hour to put the full skin on my DSI ~ It should usually only take about 15 minutes but because I wanted every corner and side all positioned correctly.....it took me a bit longer ~ I was continuously peeling it off and putting it on again ~ Which really surprised me though....usually other skins if u try and peel it off and do it again.....it won't stick as well but because you are using soapy water....it doesn't matter in this case ~

Overall....I am really happy with the DSI skin ~ I had a skin on it before.....they were "claimed" to be vinyl and were pictures of cute pigs ~ I go it off eBay....they weren't cut probably and left adhesive residue on my DSI when I was peeling it off to put my BSE skin on ~ I had to wipe it over and over with a microfibre cloth to get it off ~

At US$10.99 for this skin and only US$1.50 postage ($2.50 if you order only 1 item, $1.50 if you order 2 and free if you order 3 or more), this is a great deal ~ This thing is scratch proof, yes.....I'm serious ~ I've seen YouTube videos and even tested it myself ~ Put a key, knife, scissors to it....it won't scratch....just wipe it with a cloth again and it will recover ~ The one very big reason why I got this.....the other reason is so I keep it clean as the matte material on the DSI is a dirt attractant ~

Here's a list of what you "must" need to put on the BSE skin ~
- Soapy water - possibly in a spray bottle (It is best if it is soapy, it will make things so much easier during the process and when the water has cured after a few days)
- Squeegee - if you don't have this, just use a credit card ~ I used a small keyring membership card thing ~ It was the right size ~

The whole application process is on their website and there are heaps of videos on YouTube that shows how to put them on ~

Here is their website:
Best Skins Ever

I wil definitely be buying future skin products from them ~ When I get new stuff that is :P ~

That's my DSI BSE skin review ~ Next will be the Nokia 5800 BSE skin review ~

*Update* I lost ALL photos to my Nokia 5800 skin application ~ So I will not bother to write a seperate review for it ~

Overall, I am quite happy with the Nokia 5800 skin ~ Just the border (the part around the LCD screen) has a seperate....individual skin for it ~ It was quite hard to put that on....got quite annoyed ~

It has made the back of the phone quite nice ~ Since the back is a velvety type of feel ~ Have the skin on it reassures that this velvet feel of the cover isn't damaged easily ~ However, I think my screen has become less responsive with the thick skin ~ I also had to cut the area where my accelerometer, sensor and front camera was because my phone wouldn't let me press the on screen buttons when a call came in ~ This is due to the fact that the phone, being covered by the think skin, thinks it is still in your pocket/near face so therefore it "locks" the touchscreen ~

I think I might change back to a silicon screen protected ~ Tossing up between frosted type or mirror type ~ I have got both sitting in my drawer ~ I bought them JUST before I found out about BSE skins ~ Anyways....I have plenty of time to decide that ~

Jaspie ~
